Questions

Frequently asked questions

Clinical availability is limited and location-dependent. Educational resources and care navigation are available today; a clinical visit happens only after our team confirms a licensed clinician is available in your jurisdiction.

Can I see a clinician today?
Not automatically. Educational resources and care navigation are available now. A clinical visit happens only after our team confirms a licensed clinician is available in your jurisdiction, so we cannot promise same-day or next-day appointments.
Which languages do you support?
The website switches between English, Amharic, and Tigrinya. Long-form legal and program pages are English-only for now while qualified translations are prepared; email us and a team member will explain any page in Amharic or Tigrinya.
How does jurisdiction confirmation work?
You tell us your country and state, province, or region when you request availability. A person on our team checks whether a clinician licensed for that location is available. We do not make an automated eligibility decision, and we tell you plainly if no clinician is available.
What happens after I submit a request?
Your request reaches our team by email. We reply with either the next step — clinician details, price, consent form, and a scheduling link — or an honest note that care is not available where you are. Submitting a request does not create a clinician-patient relationship or guarantee an appointment.
How much does it cost, and do you take insurance?
Requesting availability is free and creates no payment obligation. The price, payment method, and refund terms for a specific visit are disclosed before you confirm it. We do not claim participation with any insurance plan; treat visits as self-pay unless we tell you otherwise in writing.
Can you prescribe medication?
When a visit takes place, a licensed clinician may prescribe non-controlled medications if that is clinically appropriate and permitted where they are licensed. Controlled substances are never prescribed through this service.
Can you order labs, imaging, or referrals?
A clinician may recommend labs, imaging, or a referral and coordinate with licensed local facilities. Those services are performed and billed by the facility, not by Habesha Health Connect.
What if I have an emergency?
This service is not for emergencies. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, thoughts of self-harm, or any life-threatening symptom, call 911 (US) or your local emergency number, or go to the nearest emergency department.
What technology do I need?
A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, plus a reasonably stable internet connection and a private place to talk. If the connection fails during a visit, you can reschedule at no additional cost.
How is my information protected?
Privacy and security are part of how we are building Habesha Health Connect. Clinical information submitted through third-party clinical systems is governed by those systems’ privacy and security practices. We do not make compliance, certification, or specific security-control claims at this stage. Please do not send sensitive medical information through public contact forms or AI chat. Final privacy and clinical notices will be provided before a confirmed visit. See our Privacy Policy for details, including the legal exceptions we cannot waive.
What can the AI chat (Selam) do?
Selam answers general questions and points you to resources. It is not a clinician and does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, or confirm availability. Do not enter emergencies or detailed personal health information in the chat.
Can minors use the service?
For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian must submit the request, consent, and — where required — be present. Our mentorship program has the same requirement: parent or legal-guardian consent and appropriate adult involvement.
I live outside the United States. Can I use this?
Educational content and care navigation are available worldwide. Clinical visits depend entirely on clinician licensure in your location, and in many countries we cannot currently offer them.
Are you hiring?
We do not have verified openings posted right now. The Careers page explains what we are building and how to tell us about yourself so we can contact you when roles open. All roles are subject to local licensing and regulatory requirements.
How does mentorship work?
Mentorship is educational and career guidance — not medical, legal, immigration, or licensing advice. Session format, duration, and any fee are confirmed with you before a session is booked, and participants under 18 need parent or legal-guardian consent.
How do cancellations work?
Requests are free to withdraw at any time. For a confirmed visit, the notice window and any fee are stated in your confirmation before you pay; we do not apply terms you were not shown.
How do I contact you?
Use the contact form or email habeshahealthconnect@gmail.com. We aim to respond within one business day — a target, not a guarantee. Please do not send emergencies or detailed medical information by email.
